There is an old saying that states we are all born to die. This is a very real fact and very few people will admit that they are ready to die at any given point in life. In some aspects, people can also have a fear of dying that lends itself to a positive end through choosing healthy life actions and avoiding situations and habits that may decrease life span. But, when people become fearful of dying and death to the point that this fear becomes irrational the fear of dying may actually be a phobia.
The phobia of dying and death is medically termed necrophobia. Necrophobia is an all encompassing term that includes the fear of dying (you) and the fear of death or dead people. When a person exhibits high levels of anxiety at the thought of dying or the thought of seeing a dead person, this fear can overcome them and cause a very real, physical reaction in the body.
As with many phobias, the anxiety surrounding the fear of dying is part of the fight or flight reflex. This reflex is an ingrained reaction to the
